Where can I get Argentine food in Seattle?

Here, at 221 1st Ave S in Pioneer Square. Argentum is an Argentine bakery and coffee shop run by the third generation of a baking family from Córdoba. Alfajores, facturas, tartas, sándwiches de miga and Argentine coffee, all made in house, seven days a week.

I have never had any of this. Where do I start?

A medialuna and a café con leche. That is the Argentine breakfast and it is how most of the country starts the day. If you want something sweeter, get a Cordobés alfajor with it.

What is a factura?

It is the word for the sweet pastries at the front counter. Medialunas, medialunas rellenas, anything with dulce de leche inside. Point at whatever looks good and we will tell you what it is.

Do you take orders ahead for parties?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Trays of sándwiches de miga, boxes of alfajores and whole tartas are all easier if you call a day or two ahead. Give us a ring with the date and the headcount.

Do you sell out?

Accepted Answer

Some days, yes. Everything is baked here in the morning and when a tray is empty it is empty until the next day. Coming earlier is the safe move.

Is there anything without meat?

The verdura sándwiches, every alfajor, all the tartas and most of the facturas. Ask at the counter and we will point you at the right shelf.

Where do we park?

We are on 1st Ave S in Pioneer Square. There is street parking on the block and a few garages within a couple of minutes walk. The Pioneer Square light rail station is four blocks up.
